Chuck D. Claims Universal Music Artists Get Paid $80.33 For Every 1000 Downloads
Chuck D. of Public Enemy has decided to sue Universal Music Group
claiming that UMG has miscalculated Public Enemy’s royalties for digital
downloads. In the class action suit Chuck D. claims artists get $80.33
for every 1000 downloads when it should be $315.85. Chuck D. insists
downloads should be treated as licenses and not have the same expenses
as physical records.
