T.I. Blames 'Pride And Ego' As Cause Of Rick Ross & Young Jeezy Fight

During a promotional run for his new book, Power & Beauty during an interview on Los Angeles' KTLA Morning News, T.I. was quizzed about last weekend's reported altercation between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

The 32-year-old rapper admitted that he wasn't aware of the clash at first, saying, ''I didn't even know about the fight,'' before adding what he thought may have been the possible reason behind it.

Explained the Atlanta-rapper:
''Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride. I don't know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it's about pride and ego. I can’t speak for every case. I don't know much about this case.''

Over the weekend, fight footage hit the Internet, revealing exactly what went down.
According to TMZ, the brawl between Ross and Young Jeezy reportedly took an army of guards to break up, and left a trail of destruction backstage.

In the clip, security can be seen stepping in and separating everyone before the fight got out of hand. A shirtless Rick Ross can be seen yelling before being escorted away.
The scuffle was said to have broken out during a tribute to hip-hop manager Chris Lighty, who passed away in August, was taking place on stage.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, most of the fans inside the venue were unaware of the events taking place outside, though the building was temporarily locked down during the fight.
