Floyd Mayweather “ESPN The Magazine” Interview


With only a week left before boxing’s biggest fight of the year goes down, Floyd Mayweather Jr. sits down with ESPN for their a feature in their upcoming fighting issue magazine. 

In the clip, he sits down with Stevland Wilson to discuss his legacy, career, and opening up about remaining the same fighter in comparison to 6 years ago in 2007.

During his last fight against Robert Guerrero, he injured his right hand severely, but has since recovered keeping to his word of remaining active. Now only 4 months removed from that fight, his next bout with Canelo Alvarez is going to be his biggest fight in years hoping to remain undefeated. Following his next 5 five fights, he can presumably leave the sport 49-0 equaling the record of Rocky Marciano.

In related news, Mayweather will gain over $41.5 million for the Alvarez bout, and an added bonus $10M if he defeats his opponent. He now breaks his 2012 previous record of $32 million against Miguel Cotto and will look to top the 2007 fight against Oscar De La Hoya in PPV buys and revenue, to gain the biggest revenue record all time in boxing.

Floyd’s made over $150M for his last five fights and the numbers will only increase after next Saturday’s fight.
