Mariah Carey Hires Jermaine Dupri As New Manager

Mariah Carey has hired Jermaine Dupri as part of her management team.

The singer, who has worked with producer Dupri on the songs 'We Belong Together' and 'Always Be My Baby', announced the news on Monday, October 7th.

Carey said in a statement: "We have a bond that surpasses music. I am super excited about our merger because we have so many innovative ideas that I know will come to fruition."

Dupri added: "A multi-talented artist of Mariah's caliber should be doing everything imaginable. I'm sure others have said this but not the way I intend to do it. For me, it's about the execution."

Dupri, who runs the label So So Def, has also written and produced for Destiny's Child, Usher and Monica.
