Rihanna’s New Video “You Da One” Accused of Stealing Concept

Rihanna, after releasing her latest music video titled “You Da One,” has been accused of stealing concept from fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø. The accusation of stealing concept comes not more than two months after having to pay an amount of $1,000,000 for stealing concept on her video for the single, “S&M.”

Rihanna is under fire once again for allegedly stealing the concept for her own music video from a photographer. This time, it’s for her newest video “You Da One,” in which Rihanna can be seen rolling around on the floor as stripes and polka dots dance all over her body. But Norwegian fashion photographer Solve Sunsbo says that comes straight from an editorial he did back in 2008.

In his spread, a model rocking a bowl cut wig strikingly similar to the same wig Rihanna was wearing poses nude while light projects float around all over her body … just like in Rihanna’s video. This makes the third time Rihanna has been sued by a famous photographer for stealing a concept from them for her music video.

Earlier this year, David LaChapelle filed a lawsuit against the singer, claiming she stole several concepts from him for her popular (and highly controversial) “S&M“ video. The two parties later settled for an “undisclosed sum.” Another photographer (Philipp Paulus) also sued Rihanna for biting his style in the same video.

It should also be noted that the music videos in question (“S&M” and “You Da One”) were both directed by Melina Matsoukas, who also shot Rihanna’s controversial “We Found Love“ video.
