Stevie Wonder has apologised for comments he made about Frank Ocean and the gay community being "confused" about their sexuality.
The 'Isn't She Lovely' crooner gave his offensive views while discussing Frank Ocean's open admission that he onced loved a man, telling the Guardian newspaper: "I think honestly, some people who think they're gay, they're confused."
However, upon reflection it looks like the 62-year-old has woken up to the firestrom his words have caused and the singer has now issued a grovelling aplology.
"'I'm sorry that my words about anyone feeling confused about their love were misunderstood," Wonder said in a statement toRadarOnline.com.
"No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. "
"Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man."
