Erykah Badu joins Kendrick Lamar on stage at the BET Awards as the duo perform "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe."
Compton wordsmith Kendrick Lamar secured two of the BET Awards’ most coveted awards as he won the title of “Best New Artist” and "Best Male Hip Hop Artist" at the annual music and entertainment awards show.
Due to a performance which directly followed the “Best New Artist” presentation, the rapper was unfortunately unable to accept his "Best New Artist" award and left that particular duty to actresses Gabrielle Union and Angela Bassett.
Other “Best New Artist” nominees included Azealia Banks, Joey Bada$$, Trinidad Jame$, and Canadian singer The Weeknd. The TDE spitter also received nominations for “Best Collaboration” and “Video of the Year.”
Following the “Best New Artist” presentation, Kendrick graced the stage for a performance of both “m.A.A.d City” and “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” the latter of which included a cameo from Dallas songstress Erykah Badu who lent her vocals to the good kid, m.A.A.d city record.
