With several albums taking the chance and releasing on Monday, we’ve got the weekly projections of next week thanks to the good people at Hits Daily Double. While Black Friday might change a few numbers around for the better, it seems that Rihanna won’t get her first #1 album as some may have anticipated.
Veteran rock band Nickelback are set to debut at #1 with sales of 225-250k this week, just over Rihanna who is set to come in at #2 with 180-200k this week. This might be down from her previous album LOUD which debuted at 207,000 in the US and her highest first week sales. While that number may be miniscule compared to her status in music – her last five albums, despite low first sale weeks, have gone on to platinum and multi-platinum successes.
Also debuting on the charts is Daughtry with 140-160k, Mary J. Blige with 120k-140k, Big Time Rush 90-110k, Taylor Swift 75-90k, Michael Jackson with 50-60k, and Yelawolf with 40-50k.
These placings do not include Michael Buble, Drake, Adele, and other artists who may also find themselves within the top 10. But as we say, Black Friday could change things.
