Nicki Minaj has said that children should be protected from her more explicit lyrics.
The rapper has said in a new interview that she would be 'very upset' if she heard kids singing along to the 'dirty' versions of her tracks, like ‘Stupid Hoe’. Speaking to the Guardian's Weekend magazine - Minaj said: I don't want children cursing. I'm very strict on my nieces and my little brother. They have to listen to clean versions of music".
She added that she also thought there was a sexist slant when it came to people asking her to tone down her racier rhymes, saying "Why do people ask me to lose swear words? Do people ask Eminem to lose swear words? Do they ask Lil Wayne to lose swear words? Nobody stops them and says 'Would you stop swearing... for the children, please?'".
